A Rockland, Massachusetts man has admitted guilt to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Lamont Boswell, 39, entered his plea before U.S. District Court Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV, who set sentencing for December 3, 2025. Boswell also pleaded guilty to violating the terms of his supervised release and has been held since his arrest on April 3, 2025.
According to authorities, law enforcement discovered Boswell passed out in the driver’s seat of his parked car during a wellness check on April 2, 2025. Officers found a Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handgun loaded with thirteen rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber inside the vehicle.
At the time of this incident, Boswell was under federal supervision after a previous conviction in 2021 for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He had received a sentence of 57 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. In that earlier case, he was also found with an illegally possessed loaded firearm while driving.
The law under which Boswell is charged allows for up to fifteen years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and fines as high as $250,000. Sentencing will be determined by the federal district court judge according to U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.
