A Revere resident, Kenneth Munoz, has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for illegally possessing ammunition linked to a shooting incident in Everett. The sentencing was carried out by U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young in Boston.
Munoz, aged 27, admitted guilt in December 2024 to the charge of being a felon in possession of ammunition. Following his prison term, he will undergo three years of supervised release.
The incident occurred on January 2, 2022, when more than 20 shots were fired in an Everett neighborhood, with several houses hit by stray bullets. Munoz was identified as one of the shooters involved. His criminal history includes a state conviction from 2017 for assault and battery on a family member and malicious destruction of property, making it illegal for him to possess firearms or ammunition.
The announcement came from United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; James M. Ferguson, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ Boston Field Division; Everett Police Chief Paul Strong; and Chelsea Police Chief Keith E. Houghton. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Hoefle prosecuted the case.
