A Northampton man, Gabriel Lebron, 35, has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for firearm and narcotics offenses committed while he was on supervised release. The sentencing took place in Springfield federal court.
U.S. District Court Judge Mark G. Mastroianni imposed a seven-year sentence for the firearm and drug charges, with an additional year for violating the terms of Lebron’s supervised release. This will be followed by three years of supervised release after his prison term.
Lebron pleaded guilty in September 2025 to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as possession with intent to distribute cocaine base and heroin.
According to authorities, on April 9, 2025, police responded to a report at the Howard Johnson hotel lobby in Hadley where Lebron was seen brandishing a firearm. Officers found him carrying a loaded Jimenez Arms .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol along with crack cocaine and heroin. He was arrested at the scene.
At the time of this incident, Lebron was already under federal supervision following a conviction in Vermont for possessing a loaded ghost gun equipped with a laser sight and multiple rounds of ammunition. For that offense, he had previously received a sentence of 27 months in prison and three years of supervised release.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley stated: “United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Thomas Greco, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Boston Field Division made the announcement.” She also acknowledged support from local law enforcement agencies involved in the case’s investigation.
