A Dracut, Massachusetts resident has admitted in federal court to leaking confidential information from a federal grand jury. Jessica M. Leslie, 34, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal contempt before U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani on July 28, 2025. Sentencing is set for September 26, 2025.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, Leslie was charged earlier this month with disclosing sealed grand jury information between August 11, 2022 and March 4, 2024. The disclosures included witness names, details of their testimony, and other evidence presented before the grand jury—actions that violated both federal rules and a court order.

Criminal contempt carries no mandatory minimum or maximum sentence; penalties can include any term of imprisonment, up to five years of supervised release, and fines as high as $250,000. Federal judges determine sentences based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.

“United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston made the announcement today. Assistant U.S. Attorney Anne Paruti, Chief of the Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.”
