A Leominster man was arrested and charged with transportation of child sexual abuse material, according to an announcement on April 13 by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Jeff Grimming, Acting Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in New England.

Camden MacLean, age 25, faces one count of transportation of child pornography. Authorities said MacLean was taken into custody and appeared before a federal judge in Worcester, where he was ordered detained pending a hearing set for April 21.

Charging documents allege that MacLean was flagged for secondary screening at Boston’s Logan Airport after arriving from Toronto in August 2025. During a review of his cell phone, officials reportedly found media files depicting child sexual abuse material on the Telegram Messenger app. A later forensic examination allegedly uncovered additional images involving toddlers exchanged over Telegram and Kik Messenger.

If convicted, the charge carries a minimum sentence of five years and up to twenty years in prison, at least five years to life on supervised release, and a fine up to $250,000. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge under U.S. Sentencing Guidelines.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Aidan Lang is prosecuting the case with assistance from Customs and Border Protection’s Boston Division. The investigation is part of Project Safe Childhood—a nationwide Department of Justice initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child exploitation—coordinated by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the DOJ’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section.
