A Dominican national residing in Lawrence was sentenced in federal court in Boston for illegally reentering the United States after being deported. Eddy Antonio Perdomo, 31, received a sentence of time served, which amounted to approximately four months in prison. Following the sentencing by U.S. District Court Judge Patti B. Saris, Perdomo is now subject to deportation proceedings.

Perdomo pleaded guilty in July 2025 to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien after being indicted by a federal grand jury the previous month. He had previously been deported from the United States to the Dominican Republic on October 3, 2023, and returned without permission sometime after that date.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Patricia H. Hyde, Acting Field Office Director for Boston at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations; and Lawrence Police Chief Maurice Aguiler. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan Jacobus of the Major Crimes Unit.
