A Dominican national living in Lawrence, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty in federal court on Wednesday to reentering the United States after having been previously deported.

Eddy Antonio Perdomo, 31, admitted to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien before U.S. District Court Judge Patti B. Saris. Sentencing is set for August 6, 2025. Perdomo had been indicted by a federal grand jury in June 2025.

According to prosecutors, Perdomo was removed from the United States and sent to the Dominican Republic on October 3, 2023. He returned to the country without legal permission sometime after that removal.

The offense carries a possible sentence of up to two years in prison, one year of supervised release and a $250,000 fine. After serving any imposed sentence, Perdomo faces deportation again. Sentences are determined by a federal judge based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and relevant statutes.

“United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston; and Lawrence Police Chief Maurice Aguiler made the announcement.” The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan Jacobus of the Major Crimes Unit.
