A California man has been sentenced in Boston federal court for trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl. Marcos Haro, 40, from Sacramento, received a 14-year prison sentence followed by five years of supervised release. In March 2025, Haro admitted to charges including conspiracy to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine and 40 grams of fentanyl.
Marcos Haro was indicted alongside his brother Noel Haro in April 2023. Noel is a leader in the “Border Brothers” gang involved in drug and human trafficking between Southern Arizona and Mexico. He is serving a life sentence for related offenses and was transferred to Massachusetts due to security concerns.
The investigation began around April 2019 into Noel’s efforts to traffic drugs to Massachusetts using family members. By June 2022, Marcos supplied narcotics hidden in a teddy bear via mail. Packages retrieved later contained significant quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
In October 2022, arrangements were made for selling fentanyl pills. A package containing these pills tested positive for fentanyl upon retrieval in November.
Marcos was arrested on April 2, 2023, with a firearm and suspected fentanyl found during a vehicle search. His criminal history includes previous convictions involving controlled substances and weapons offenses.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations through multi-agency collaboration.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley along with other law enforcement officials who acknowledged the support from various agencies involved in the investigation.
