A Brockton resident has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for drug trafficking and firearm offenses. Zairi Andrade, also known as “Z-Money,” 19, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy in Boston federal court. Following his release, Andrade will serve three years of supervised release.

Andrade pleaded guilty in June 2025 to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, fentanyl analogue, and cocaine, as well as possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

According to investigators, on December 3, 2024, law enforcement searched four locations linked to a Brockton drug trafficking organization. Authorities determined that Andrade’s bedroom was used as a stash location for the group. During the search, police found over two kilograms of fentanyl and nearly two kilograms of cocaine in his room. They also recovered a 9-millimeter Glock 17 handgun fitted with what appeared to be a machinegun conversion device, a laser sight, and an extended magazine. Additional items seized included a 50-round drum-style magazine, another extended magazine, multiple rounds of ammunition, and materials used for mixing and packaging narcotics.

Another individual connected to the case, Tavares, pleaded guilty in May 2025 to three counts related to distribution and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and its analogue. Tavares is scheduled for sentencing on October 28, 2025.

“United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division made the announcement today. Valuable assistance was provided by the Massachusetts State Police and the Brockton Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Cutshall of the Organized Crime & Gang Unit prosecuted the case.”
