A Brazilian national residing unlawfully in the Clinton and Framingham areas has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Boston for firearms trafficking. Patrick Rodrigues DeOliveira, 25, faces charges of dealing firearms without a license and conspiracy to engage in such business. He is scheduled for arraignment on July 30, 2025.

The indictment alleges that between August and September 2024, Rodrigues DeOliveira conspired to acquire firearms in South Carolina for sale in Massachusetts. In one instance, he allegedly sold a shotgun and pistol outside a Framingham motel for $3,500.

If convicted, the charges carry potential penalties of up to five years imprisonment, three years supervised release, and fines up to $250,000. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge according to U.S. Sentencing Guidelines.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Bryan DiGirolamo of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives; Michael J. Krol from Homeland Security Investigations; and Patricia H. Hyde from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations. The Massachusetts State Police and Framingham Police Department also contributed assistance.

Assistant U.S. Attorney John Reynolds is prosecuting the case as part of the Organized Crime & Gang Unit.

All allegations are considered unproven until established beyond reasonable doubt in court.
