A Boston woman, Ashley Roostaie, also known as “Lola” or “dropdeadlola,” has been sentenced for her role in a fraudulent scheme involving access device fraud and conspiracy to rent apartments under a stolen identity. On May 22, 2025, U.S. District Court Judge Patti B. Saris sentenced Roostaie to two years’ probation and ordered her to pay fines and restitution totaling $2,000.

In February 2025, Roostaie admitted guilt to charges of access device fraud and conspiracy to commit access device fraud and aggravated identity theft. Her co-conspirator, Terrence Pyrtle, was charged alongside her in April 2023.

The duo used another individual’s personal information, including a Social Security number, to secure lease agreements for apartments in Braintree and Somerville. They created an email account using the victim’s identity and submitted a counterfeit driver’s license with the victim’s name but a different photograph to apartment complexes. This allowed them to obscure their connection to the properties used by Pyrtle for drug trafficking activities involving cocaine, fentanyl, fentanyl analogue, and methamphetamine.

Roostaie and Pyrtle also utilized the victim’s information to acquire a prepaid debit card for making payments related to the rented apartments.

Pyrtle has pleaded guilty to his part in these crimes as well as other charges including aggravated identity theft and drug-related offenses. He is currently awaiting sentencing.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley along with Kimberly Milka from the FBI’s Boston Division and Colonel Geoffrey D. Noble of the Massachusetts State Police. Assistance came from multiple local police departments as well as county sheriff’s departments. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kaitlin R. O’Donnell and David Cutshall.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations through coordinated efforts across agencies.
