A Boston man has admitted guilt in federal court to charges related to child exploitation. Kyle Joyner, aged 40, entered a guilty plea for one count of sexual exploitation of children and one count of possession of child pornography. U.S. District Court Judge Denise Casper has set the sentencing date for September 10, 2025. Joyner was indicted by a federal grand jury on March 6, 2024.
The offenses occurred between January 3, 2023, and September 17, 2023. During this period, Joyner produced child sexual abuse material involving a minor known to him. In October 2023, authorities seized two cell phones from Joyner containing over 700 images of child sexual abuse material featuring prepubescent females.
The charge of sexual exploitation carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and could extend up to 30 years in prison. It also includes a lifetime supervised release and a potential fine up to $250,000. The possession charge could result in up to 20 years in prison with similar conditions for supervised release and fines. Sentencing will be determined by the federal district court judge according to U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and applicable statutes.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Kimberly Milka, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Boston Division, announced the development today with assistance from the Boston Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica L. Soto is handling the prosecution.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 aimed at protecting children from exploitation and abuse through collaboration among federal, state, and local resources.
