Daniel Loughman, also known as “Swiss,” was sentenced on Mar. 30 in federal court in Boston to 12 years in prison for his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute crystal methamphetamine. Loughman, age 40 and from Wakefield, Massachusetts, will also serve five years of supervised release following his prison term. He pleaded guilty in December 2025 to one count of possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and one count of conspiracy related to the same drug.
The sentencing marks the conclusion of a significant case targeting a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking ring operated by members and associates of the Unknown Bikers Motorcycle Club across Eastern Massachusetts.
According to prosecutors, Loughman was identified as a key distributor around October 2023. Investigators carried out controlled purchases from him and co-conspirators James Snow, Danielle Steenbruggen, and James Adams. The investigation led authorities to seize approximately ten pounds of methamphetamine and four firearms through controlled buys, vehicle stops, and search warrants.
Loughman is the fourth individual sentenced in this case. Steenbruggen received a sentence of 93 months after pleading guilty in August 2025; Snow was sentenced to 90 months on March 23 after pleading guilty in December; Adams received a sentence of over twelve years on March 20 after his December plea.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley announced the sentencing along with officials from several federal agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives; Homeland Security Investigations; Drug Enforcement Administration; U.S. Postal Inspection Service; Massachusetts State Police; Wakefield Police Department; as well as local police departments that assisted with the investigation.
