An Allston resident has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges related to the trafficking of methamphetamine and 1,4-Butanediol (BDO), a substance similar to Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (GHB), often referred to as the “date rape drug.”

Peter Schiepers, 33, admitted to one count of distribution and possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine, two counts involving BDO, and two counts concerning 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. U.S. District Court Judge Richard G. Stearns has scheduled sentencing for January 7, 2026. Schiepers was indicted by a federal grand jury in April 2025.

According to authorities, law enforcement received information in November 2024 that Schiepers was distributing methamphetamine in the Boston area. From November 2024 through February 2025, a cooperating source made several controlled purchases from him. In January 2025, Schiepers sold one ounce of methamphetamine; the following month he sold four ounces of methamphetamine and a liter of BDO.

The charges carry significant penalties. Possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine can result in at least five years and up to forty years in prison, along with supervised release ranging from three years to life and fines up to $5 million. The charge involving fifty grams or more carries a minimum ten-year sentence and could lead to life imprisonment, supervised release for at least three years up to life, and fines up to $10 million. Sentencing will be determined by the federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines.

“United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Jarod A. Forget, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New England Field Office made the announcement today.” The Boston Police Department and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service’s Boston Division provided assistance in this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney John O. Wray is prosecuting.
